BioSulf Shipping Codes
Published July 20, 2007
Dear Karl,
Until BioSulf rises to a level of having its own separate categorization for "official" purposes, it can and will be shipped and handled as "MSM," and use the below coding.
Â
These are 2 important numbers that you should know about MSM.
Â
1.   CAS Number -- 67-71-0
Â
This is called "Chemical Abstract Service" Number, which is normally used for chemically identifying any product to determine its nature such as Hazardous, Non Hazardous etc.
Â
2.   HSC Number -- 2930.90.90
Â
This is called "Harmonized System Code" Number, which is internationally recognised for trade & tariff such as Customs & Excise.
Â
Â
This is called "Prior Notice System" Number which is applicable only where FDA comes into the picture at the port clearance. This is a number generated by FDA and given to the importing company in USA. This is applicable only for imports into USA from anywhere in the world.
Â
Every time when you want to import goods or samples from us, you have to inform FDA, obtain the number from them and keep them in your records. The description of the goods you give to obtain the number should be replicated in our documents here, which will ensure very smooth sailing & delivery.
Â
You may also inform us for us to mention this number in the courier documents, so that it moves smoothly through the US Customs & FDA.
