  1. I, Karl Loren, am starting this report, which I will publish daily, or at least regularly, to describe my experience with BioSulf. Click here for what I consider the "ideal" study report" for others who would like to participate in these studies.
  2. Karl LorenThe ideal study report would include photos -- the ideal photo would be a close up image in good light, also with flash, with a good, not fancy, camera. Click Here for one such image and HERE for an even closer up image.
  3. Years ago when I was researching diet, i wrote a personal diary about my daily food use. I wanted it for my own records, but it was easy enough to put it on a web page. I have been amazed, over the years at the number of people who found such a trivial and personal account interesting. In the case of BS there should be more logical interest since I am launching this new product for which I claim mere miracles -- those who are looking at BS for their own use may well have a very legitimate interest in knowing how I have researched it for my personal use.

  4. BioSulf DeliveryMy first supply of BS arrived on Friday, July 20, 2007 and I took my first dose at about 1 PM that day --- and at least 4 more doses the same day, plus two more during the night.
  5. My usual dose depends on the type of jar I'm storing my BS in. It is the one-pound wide-mouthed jar which we will use to package our product for sale. When I put my table spoon down into that jar to bring up some of the powder, the angle of the spoon is such that I would not normally get a heaping full table spoon. That's fine. I figure there is about one half a full table spoon each time I take it. It is loose powder. I simply put it into my mouth and hold it. It doesn't taste bad to me. I deliberately hold it in my mouth for as long as convenient.
  6. It dissolves quickly to the point where the saliva in my mouth is saturated and boy taking Bio Sulfno more will dissolve. At that point there are still undissolved crystals of BS I can feel in my mouth. The mouth continues to fill with saliva until it is so full that I have to swallow some. I swallow -- it may be 4 or 5 minutes, leaving some still in the mouth. That continues to dissolve in the fresh supply of saliva so that, usually within 10 minutes it is all gone -- i would usually have to swish my tongue around to clean out the pockets of undissolved crystals between my cheeks and gums. I do some "chewing" of the crystals then.
  7. I even do about the same when I take it and then lie in bed. It is a bit harder to Mouth Full Of Biosulfhold a mouth full of saliva whiled lying down in bed, so it may not stay in my mouth as long that way.
  8. I had a tooth break off just before I started with the organic sulfur from Patrick. There is still a hole there until I can get a new root canal and bridge at a dentist. So, I make some effort to swish the BS into that hole to keep the gums there regenerating as I expect them to do.
  9. For some years I normally awake at least twice each night to urinate - I expect to take BS every time I do that.
  10. Saturday, July 21st: I weigh myself on a very accurate scale every morning at the same time. This is a careful routine -- I carefully use the toilet, always, first, and do not eat anything. I have been trying to lose weight -- and use my daily weight to help me gauge what I might eat that day. For more than 30 consecutive days the weight had never been lower than 228, sometimes up to 233. On Friday AM, July 20, before taking BS, my weight had gone down to 228 from the day before. This Saturday, after one partial day (Friday) of using BS, my weight was 226 on Saturday morning. That loss of two pounds, despite two glasses of wine, a full chicken, vegetables, couscous, fruit and cookies for dinner and full lunch and breakfast the Friday before -- is remarkable. I can see no reason to lose 2 pounds in one day after 30 days of no significant change -- perhaps the BS, so quickly, is doing this?
  11. I also slept better. I have not had any trouble sleeping, but I woke feeling better rested. I dreamed in color the first time I took MSM -- many years go -- not currently, but my dreams HAVE changed. I seem to dream about my work, but it is a type of dream where I actually solve problems and wake up with solutions I had not thought of when I started the sleep. This is a remarkable change -- I am engaged in research that is fascinating to me -- and often "dream" about it. I wake up feeling well - rested so this does not seem to be a negative aspect for my sleep or this type of 'dream.'.
  12. Deep Sleep Is Needed For Growth and Regeneration[My study director suggests that dreams of your work mean you are not getting the deep sleep you need for regeneration -- better to dream of imaginary things.]
  13. As I often do I awoke at about 3 AM and got up to work as I very often do in the middle of the night -- two hours -- felt very energized -- back to bed about 5 AM, up at 7 AM when I weighed myself
  14. I look forward to maintaining this diary on a regular reporting basis.
  15. i have decided that those who wish to test BS should write up their "unwanted conditions" of any sort --- medical or not -- and then keep a diary on daily use of BS.
  16. Dental Exam == Finding Gum DegenerationThe first big impetus for testing BS was the stunning news from my dentist -- on June 19, 2007 and the cost for his treatment of my gums. I have written up that experience HERE. In due course I will have X-Ray images to publish here to show the level of gum disease. on that date. That was the date when I started taking Patrick's sulfur -- in earnest -- because he said there was every chance that good usage of organic sulfur would regenerate gums and eliminate any of that gum disease.
  17. Then, when I have had several more weeks of use of BS, and again see a dentist, get X-Rays, I'll be publishing THOSE images -- good or bad to show change.

  18. I have been using Patrick's organic sulfur while I awaited first delivery of BS. I used a bit more than a full pound of Patrick's sulfur and ended that last jar on the same day I started with the new supply -- BS. Since that visit to the dentist, to the day I started taking BS I used about 1 1/2 pounds of Patrick's sulfur -- a heavy usage -- but I would recommend that to anyone.
  19. Eye WateringI believe that Patrick's sulfur has also been effective in many ways -- so I believe certain other "symptoms" are healing crises, started by Patrick's sulfur. I expect those detox actions to continue with BS. One of these has been very dramatic -0- it started ONLY when I started with patrick's sulfur. My eyes started to accumulate "sleepers" every night -- so much so that my eye lids would be pasted close so tight that it was difficult to open them in the AM. That continues. It's not painful -- just dramatic.
  20. However, in addition to that I have an almost constant "watering" of my eyes - making it very hard to see. I am constantly dabbing at my eyes to wipe away the water/tears. I am convinced that is a detox action.
  21. I have no difficulty reading the computer screen, but am very reluctant to drive -- since I cannot see street signs well.
  22. I don't wear glasses -- so on Monday, July 23rd I'm going to see my eye doctor -- same one I've seen for years about getting glasses, and to get a bench-mark doctor's opinion on the condition of my eyes. I expect BS to do wonders for my eyes.
  23. Bad Knee -- LimpingSeveral years ago I had a great deal of pain in my left knee and was diagnosed as an acceptable candidate for a knee replacement. I delayed and the problem migrated to my hips. I ultimately got TWO hips replaced, and the knee ceased giving me any problem
  24. I've been an active Kung Fu student, now, for almost two years -- I've had no problem with that knee (or the hips) and kick without pain or concern.
  25. Since starting on Patrick's sulfur my left knee has become a source of constant pain -- I call it a "trick knee." When I walk normally, there is no problem, but going down stairs is a real problem. There are many motions, now, in Kung Fu, that I cannot do at all, or with much pain -- had no trouble with these motions before taking Patrick's sulfur.
  26. I am convinced this is also a healing crisis and that I can restore that knee to full function with BS. Regeneration of missing cartilage and a bad knee joint could probably take a year or so, but why not?
  27. Many years ago I had so much arthritic pain in my hands that I could not button a shirt -- my wife had to button them for me. Then, for what reason I don't know, the pain disappeared and was gone, for years. It could have been the early MSM I took.
  28. ThumbIn any event, Friday, my last day on Patrick's sulfur my right thumb was a source of great arthritic pain. I was pleased enough -- thinking this was just another part of my healing. Today, Saturday, there is some restriction in motion and some pain, but much less than one day earlier -- could BS have reversed that pain so quickly.
  29. Some few years ago I developed skin cancers in my hair line -- they were not getting smaller even with my own MSM cream applications. I made an appointment with a dermatologist for removal. Then I started using Patrick's sulfur and the spots started getting smaller and less thick. There are still some left, but I expect they will disappear. (I have also been applying PAV, another sulfur product Patrick recommends.)
  30. I am overweight at 226 today, and 5' 8". I believe I should depend on diet and exercise for the change I want, but as Patrick predicted for me, using his sulfur, my bowel movements have been more regular and easier. I certainly would be pleased to think that BS will assist me in losing weight.
  31. Energy? My energy level is good. It has gotten gradually better, probably starting with the start of use of Patrick's sulfur. I usually work 50 -70 hours per week and enjoy what I do. I will note with interest any change in this.
  32. Prior to starting on Patrick's sulfur I would usually feel like stopping work by 7 PM and go to bed before 8 PM. i've not had any trouble getting sleep and no trouble getting up. In the last few weeks I've often noticed with surprise that it was 11 PM and I was still working -- at my computer -- research and writing. I can recall a time, many years ago when i routinely worked 18 hours per day without tiring. We'll see.
  33. Karl Loren, Orange Belt Kung FuI got up to an orange belt with my Kung Fu, but after my stroke on Christmas day, 2006, and the continuing TIA's, then two surgeries (one was a failed stent placement because of tortuous arteries -- the other was the follow-up carotid surgery to clean out the blockage that caused the stroke) I've gone to Kung Fu class mostly for the exercise rather than to pursue the black belt. My exercise at Kung Fu is progressing, but I am far behind what I was able to do before my stroke -- so I look forward to getting back to kicking and punching -- rather than just the bending and breathing I've been doing for the last several months. Click here for larger image
  34. One very obvious impairment left from my stroke is my left arm and leg -- I can see very significant differences in ability to use that side of my body - I expect Kung Fu to solve that problem, but look to BS to help-- it will not be easy to tell which is doing the most.
  35. My stroke in December 2006 was undoubtedly related to my very high blood blood pressure testpressure -- usually at 180/100 and sometimes as high as 210/120. I ignored it for many years -- thought I was immune to problems -- because it didn't cause any pain. My own oral chelation formula was not designed to handle BP and I should have started my exercise and diet much earlier. I've learned. So, after the stroke I still have high BP and take a variety of pills -- including the mandatory Plavix for a stroke victim. I take the Plavix and baby aspirin, plus three different BP pills. My readings will now become a regular part of this account. It is now 7:22 PM, Saturday, July 21st. The BP reads 162/92, with Heart Rate at 86. I usually don't forget to take my pills -- did take them this AM. I am looking forward to a reduction in BP and throwing away the pills.
  36. That's about all I can think of that's wrong with this 76 year old body -- let's see what BS can do for me?
  37. Sunday, July 22, 2007: The weight I reported for yesterday was a fluke -- back up to 229 this AM.
  38. Study GroupWhen and if you become a member of the sulfur study group and have a study director you will have options for payment for various services, either by eMail or phone, either limited or unlimited. When I mentioned this increase to Patrick, my study director, he gave me DATA, not medical advice -- he told me that, yes, it is true that muscle weighs more than fat per unit volume, but water weighs more then both. He suggested that I not look at the weight scale, but measure my waist or just see how clothing fit. Advice like this can make the difference between going off on some wrong path, or staying on the path to achieve the results in regeneration and restoration that BioSulf offers.
  39. Here is another item of interest. I dreamed last night, in technicolor. I've done Technicolor Dreamthat before and it is a common experience for first-time users of sulfur, but there is some importance about WHAT you dream about. Again, Patrick mode sense -- it is with simple questions and non-medical advices such as these that your study director can help you get the most out of our Bio Sulf experience -- these are not medical diagnoses -- but comments and observations.
  40. My blood pressure readings were startling. i took them three times in a row to make sure the machine was properly working -- at 3:40 PM, Sunday, 22 July 2007.

  41. Cellulose From Pine TreesThese were so low compared to yesterday that I can't believe BS caused that change. I will want to see several days of consistently similar readings first.
  42. I was reminded by Patrick that BioSulf is about 40% pure organic sulfur and 60% cellulose. Cellulose is the primary ingredient in most laxatives that don't depend on toxic shock (such as coffee enemas) to cause bowel movements. Thus BioSulf, taken in large enough quantity, is a very natural and very effective regulator of the digestive system -- I have found this to be true.
  43. I may not have commented earlier but my hair is growing out much more rapidly than before -- this is most striking for my beard. Prior to using organic sulfur I could shave in the AM and have a fairly clean face all day -- now after shaving in the AM I need another shave in mid afternoon. Rapid hair growth. The hair on my head is also growing faster and seems to be turning darker. It seems, also, "softer" than my hair used to be -- the place i measure is on the short hairs on the back of my neck.
  44. Ready for bed at 10:11 PM, with BP reading at 167/93, second reading at 163/91, HR 91.

  45. Monday, July 23, 2007: 9:46 AM, BP 162/90 HR 86, no drugs yet taken today.
  46. Feeling fine.
  47. Dreams last night? Yes, I did not dream about work. But, also, I do not remember what I dreamed about, if anything -- I just woke up.
  48. Eye ExaminationToday was a full eye exam with the optometrist as well as the ophthalmologist I will have a full report published here soon. I was surprised and pleased to learn that the long distance glasses which I had, prescribed from two years earlier, did not need change. I have not worn them for two years -- I should have.
  49. I did not even take in for inspection any of the several reading glasses I had -- not knowing which were the last prescribed -- but I had not been using any of them anyway.
  50. The optometrist gave me a prescription for "computer glasses" so I'm looking forward to them.
  51. Because of my stroke in December 2006, the ophthalmologist wanted to check for any damage to the optic nerves -0- so I had a full exam for that, including a test of peripheral vision and a full dilation and then photograph of the eye ball.
  52. All of that will be published here in due course.

  54. July 24, 2007: I dropped two of my BP drugs this AM. That means I am taking daily, only, 1 Atacarnd HCL 16/12.5 mg. I did not ask for any opinion on making this change, and have known that the Study Director should never be asked for his opinion on this -- he has told me that any of the study members who changed their meds have done so without consulting him -- that is the way it must be.
  55. I realized today that when I leave home on errands (visit the doctor) I may be several hours before I get back to my Bio Sulf. I make up for that, but I don't get the same regularity of usage as when I am in my office all day.
  56. Also, with my wife coming home from Florida on Saturday, I "warned" her that IMouth Full of Biosulf often have a mouth full of BS/saliva and cannot talk. I may sometimes spend 10 minutes, or more with a full mouth that way -- figuring that it absorbs well when held that long in the mouth.
  57. 1:58 PM, BP 197/89, HR 103 -- Busy. No BP meds all day Then took one, movie and restaurant, home to work until ,. . .
  58. 9:15 PM, BP 168/95, HR 98 Feeling fine, as always. High BP does not seem to cause any unwanted sensation or symptom.
  59. Wednesday, July 25, 2007: BP Meds at 7:40 AM, 8:25 AM BP 176/94, HR 97
  60. Off to see the surgeon who did my carotid surgery today.
  61. Friday, July 27, 2007: Yesterday, Thursday, I had tasks away from home =- left at 10 AM and did not return until 10 PM -- 12 hours, and despite the plan to take BS water with me to sip, forgot to do so. I need to be more careful on such times. When I'm at home/office all day I have no trouble taking BS all during the day.
  62. I took many doses of BS as soon as I did get home, including the times during the night when I got up -- I'm still not trying to count the doses, but there must have been at least five "one-half tablespoons" between 10 PM Thursday night and 5 AM, Friday morning.
  63. I had a different type of dream. I awoke from the dream at 6 AM, Friday morning, very aware of the difference between the dream state and the awake state -- I also accept that useful sleep should not include solving work problems, but I've done these work-solving dreams often before, yet this was different. I also felt that I could be accurate in estimating the passage of time during this dream -- probably 30 minutes trying to solve a problem about "drop down menus" -- specifically the type used on this page to allow content items to "drop down" when the mouse cursor goes over an item. I had dreamed of this same problem earlier and had worked on this same problem during awake hours -- and had resolved while awake how I knew I could resolve the problem -- the next time I went at it while awake -- and the futility of trying to solve this problem while asleep. Yet, this while this dream did not solve the problem, I was able to apply logic and rule out some non-useful approaches while dreaming. Now that I am awake I know that there is a much easier approach to solving this problem, now that I am awake, but I marvel at the application of useful logic while dreaming -- normally my dreams of this type do not include use of logic a waking skill. This may not have been deep restful sleep, but it was an interesting and I think useful use of otherwise sleep time. I am confident that my awake approach to this puzzle will now be more productive for having spent this time dreaming about the problem.
  64. 6:50 AM, BP: 188/108, HR 92. Could interesting but non-productive work at a dreaming puzzle cause high BP?
  65. Monday, July 30, 2007: 8:55 PM, BP 153.60, HR 87
  66. LimpThe left knee hurts and I limp most of the time -- it may be a healing crisis, but whatever it is it hurts. I'm ready for regeneration of cartilage and truly expect that can happen, so I continue to walk -- no thought of pain killers or other treatment.
  67. My sleep is definitely different on Biosulf than it was with the earlier organic sulfur which I got from Patrick -- and, of course, different from what I had with our regular MSM.
  68. I used to be "proud" of being able to get up during the night, feel good and stay up to work for a few hours -- then back to bed. When I leaned that regeneration takes place only during restful sleep i DECIDED TO sleep better and I have been doing that. Biosulf? probably -- that is the only thing different. I sleep more soundly and longer -- there are changes taking place, I feel them -- so am eager to continue.
  69. Generally my energy level is constant and high -- all day. When I go to bed I generally get to sleep in less than 10 minutes. As best I can judge, my gums are regenerating -- but the next set of X-Rays will be that proof.
  70. I plan to visit my orthopedic surgeon -- the one who did both my artificial hips Orthopaedic Surgeon For Karl's Hips suggest one for kneeand get a benchmark x=ray for my knee and his medical opinion -- I'll post it here and ten expect Biosulf to fix it.
  71. Tuesday, July 31, 2007: BP 136/75, HR 88
  72. I continue to take BS very often during the day -- depending on whether i am home or away. I have still not organized myself to take a bottle of mixed BS/water with me to sip -- I should, but haven't.
  73. I would guess that I take about 1/3 of a table spoon each time -- perhaps 12 times per day -- including every time during the night when/if I get up for the restroom.
  74. Invariably I hold it in my mouth -- accumulating saliva -- usually until there is to much saliva that I have no choice but to swallow. Sometimes this might be 5 minutes or more. I cannot talk with a mouth filling with saliva, so sometimes I swallow more quickly because I have to talk -- other times I might not have to talk and hold the mouth full for several minutes.
  75. I find an INITIAL taste, then a period of NO TASTE AT ALL while it has filled my mouth with solution, THEN A NEW TASTE when I swallow -- I assume the final swallow exposes different taste buds to the solution so that I experience a taste compared to a few seconds before when I had no taste sensation even with a mouth full.
  76. The final taste is the least pleasant.
  77. There is a lingering taste that is distinctive -- not pleasant, but not discouraging to more use.
  78. If I let it accumulate in my mouth, particularly while in bed, it settles in the pockets between my lower cheeks and gums -- it doesn't dissolve at all there -- even after several minutes -- eventually I use my tongue to swish it into an area where it can dissolve.
  79. Effects?
  80. Hard to detect -- my sleeping is different. My knee limp is still the same. I cannot tell if my gums are better, but think that they are.
  81. The skin cancers on my forehead, in the hairline, at my temple, are almost all gone -- either the PAV or the BS.
  82. Eyes WateringMy eyes had been watering constantly -- less now, but still some.
  83. MY BP is irregular, my weight not affected. Just now BP was 136/76 great, but it is often 160+/90+ I still take several BP pills.
  84. I've decided to publish this also.

  89. Last evening I learned something useful. I was working on a complicated issue for this web site == left my writing with puzzles in mind. I was also tired. Got into bed about 9 PM and fell asleep quickly.
  90. But, I awoke at 10 PM and then discovered that I could not go back to sleep. My wife, had not yet gotten to sleep, had the TV on and I lay there listening to a program that did not calm me -- violence, etc.
  91. Finally, at about 10:30 PM I started a significant conversation with her. She too has had trouble sleeping for some time since her cancer recovery, but it seemed a bit more difficult recently -- and she had just started taking BIosulf recently. She thought she might be detoxing more than she was comfortable with and thought she might stop taking BS before bed. (I have been taking it all day long, just before bed and all during the night whenever I got up to use the toilet.)
  92. We talked about what else we could do to get to sleep -- since both of us believe that regeneration is likely to occur only during deep sleep.
  93. It's Too hot in hereIt then dawned on me that the room was a bit warm. Our Air Conditioner gets set here and there during the day -- it was not hot, but certainly not cold.
  94. I decided to lower the temperature -- changed the thermostat and soon felt more cool air coming into the bedroom.
  95. I don't know if a person can ever "know" the minute he falls asleep -- I did not -- but it was probably at midnight or so. I do know what it is like to wake up after a deep sleep. I awoke about 5:30 AM, and realized that feeling -- like I had been asleep only a few seconds -- yet it had been about 5 hours.
  96. I also felt more rested than I have felt for some while. I also had pulled the comforter up and was snuggled down in the bed to keep warm -- the air was quite chilly -- I recalled how pleasant it is to sleep in a cold room -- to have warm sheets and blankets to keep you warm.
  97. I realized that I had slept well -- undoubtedly because I had lowered the temperature in the room.
  98. I resolved to write this and to continue ensuring that I could sleep in a relatively cool room at night -- expecting that this would solve getting to sleep more easily and getting a deep sleep.
  99. My wife commented that she would not so much like to get out of bed into a cold bedroom -- so I went downstairs to ramp up the thermostat.
  100. A small miracle -- could it be??
  101. I've had a terrible amount of pain in my left knee for some weeks -- I limp a lot -- it is of recent origin and I HOPED it was a detox reaction -- but one of the consequences of the sore knee has been much more pain going DOWN stairs than going up. For some time I would go down stairs with pain on every step, and only with care to minimize the process.
  102. This time I went down those steps almost normally. I was aware of some small pain, but mostly just walked down the stairs. I realized that the only thing that was different from a few hours earlier when I had gone up and down those same stairs was that I had slept soundly.
  103. Could there have been some improvement of my knee in those few hours or sound sleep?
  104. I don't know, but I do know that I will continue taking BS and sleeping in a cool bedroom.
  105. Sunday, August 5, 2007: 10:23 PM BP: 143/64, HR 90 Nice to see!
  106. Lots of limping today -- when I walk any distance, but a day of good energy and lots of productive work.
  107. Monday, August 6, 2007: 1:34 PM BP 138/72, HR 98
  108. Last night I didn't feel I got deep slesleep apnea mask -- I wore one for 5 years -- then two years off, now try againep. Today, talking with a friend -- we both wore Sleep Apnea devices for some years -- I thought mine was "cured" with my Kung Fu exercise. He read this journal and asked me -- we chatted, and I agreed I'm going to put on the Apnea mask tonight -- see if I can sleep deeply and all night.
  109. I'll report on Tuesday. The BP reading today is very welcome -- I am, of course, still taking BP Meds.
  110. Tuesday, August 7, 2007: 9:54 AM, BP 159/91, HR 91, before AM Meds, cold in the room. I normally take all my pills first thing in the AM, so BP readings any other time of the day would be some number of hours after the meds. There has been no change in meds == I'll report here any change.
  111. Yesterday, Monday, like any day when I leave my office, I went out for a movie and restaurant and missed getting any Biosulf for about 5 hours. When I am at my home/office I take it every time I think of it == probably about 6 - 7 times per day, then every time I get up during the night to urinate --- sometimes twice usually 4. So, taking about 1/3 of a table spoon each time, figure 10 times Tablespoon for Biosulfper day, I'm getting about 3 full tablespoons, or about 45 grams per day.
  112. Monday night, as I indicated, I slept with my sleep apnea mask -- first time in more than one year. It was a very different sleep experience.
  113. First, I awoke only once at about 3 AM -- longest I slept without wakening i many months.
  114. Second, I always turn my body frequently -- sleep on one side, then the the other. With that mask on my head it is not comfortable to sleep on my side, so I started off flat on my back and pretty much stayed that way until I awoke at 3 AM.
  115. Third, it was very clear that I could and did breathe more deeply -- you know how you try to breathe deep and don't quite make it -- the lungs just don't fill up -- you feel like you could have taken in more air, but didn't. With that apnea mask blowing air into my nostrils I could start taking a deep breath and had no trouble complete the action to get a very full breath -- it is very comforting to get those full deep breaths -- lots of those --any time I wanted them.
  116. Fourth, finally, I felt the sleep was more sound and deep -- the only time, per Patrick, that regeneration really takes place. So, I was pleased with the whole experience and thank Owen Charles for nudging me.
  117. This brings up how these journals can be helpful to the Members -- when you friends are willing to spend their time reading them, and giving comment or advice -- not all advice is always welcome, but many times it may be.
  118. So, the sleep apnea experience was a winner for me.
  119. The mask was terrible, however, and Owen had gone on to his second and then even third version form the time we both had the same brand. So, now, thanks to Medicare and US Taxpayers, I'll go get another test and be able to get a newer type of mask that allows you to be more comfortable with the process.
  120. His mask also puts a bit of moisture into the air -- last night the air coming into my nostrils left my nose/throat feeling too dry. It was also true, however, that I normally wake up in the AM with a somewhat plugged nose and this AM the nose and breathing were completely clear -- very easy breathing -- so this was a fun experience. I commend a sleep apnea mask to you even if you have to just buy one.
  121. 11:55 AM, BP 171/93, HR 98. Disappointing == after full meds in the AM and the lower reading then??. WHY?
  122. 7:47 PM, BP: 165/89, HR 91
  123. Off to early bed and sleep with my fond Sleep Apnea MASK.
  124. Wednesday August 8, 2007: 8:15 AM, BP 162/81, HR 86, before AM meds
  125. Poor sleep last night. I tried to get to sleep before 9 PM, with the mask working fine -- but it was about 2 AM before I slept. Why? I was feeling great, excited about what was going on in life -- no problems I was trying to resolve. Interestingly, I have an ability to see into the future and there had been a significant and important decision in India relating to a business arrangement -- the agreement was signed and on its way to me -- when I couldn't sleep I reviewed my incoming mail and found and responded about 1:30 AM, as i have often done -- whether that kept me awake or not? -- knowing that it was coming.
  126. Very happyFinally got to sleep about 2 AM, slept fine to 6 AM, then up, tired but feeling unusually buoyant. I don't mind feeling this way, but I accept the fact that regeneration requires deep sleep, and I didn't get.
  127. When I did get to sleep I dreamed of a puzzle I had to solve -- hadn't thought of it earlier in the night -- and, as often happens for me, I solved that puzzle while sleeping and woke up with the answer.
  128. I recall the very first time I took MSM, many years ago, and how I could not sleep because, as I later figured, I was detoxing and any toxin in small amounts acts as a chemical stimulation, much the same as taking amphetamine:
  129. Short-term psychological effects of the drug at therapeutic levels could include alertness, euphoria, increased concentration, rapid talking, increased confidence, and increased social responsiveness. Effects of the drug when abused could include, nystagmus (eye wiggles), hallucinations, and loss of REM sleep the night after use.
  130. A Facial is a type of detoxI would rather have the deep sleep, so I need to find a way to get it despite any detox that might induce an artificial feeling of alertness. Detox may cause the equivalent of an abusive dose of the toxin to leave cells where it was stored, enter the blood stream and cause the same type of effects as when such would have been originally taken.. Generally any type of toxin can give this result, I believe. Detox through the situation to get rid of the stuff and then no more of such effects -- that is what happened to me originally and I expect that again. It appears that Biosulf is causing a new level of detox in me even though I had been taking regular MSM and the organic sulfur just before, without the same effect..
  131. Today is another of great excitement for me -- for all that is going on -- I do not lack for energy and believe that there is a "spiritual reserve" of energy that can substitute for ordinary deep sleep -- but that still does not necessarily allow the regeneration to take place -- the promise of Biosulf.
  132. 9:00 AM, after breakfast, before meds: BP 173/84, HR 87 why higher? What does it take to lower it? Drugs? So, now I take my daily BP pills.
  133. 2:24 PM BP 132/80, HR 82 -- hurray! Before BS even the pills wouldn't bring it down -- so this is an improvement -- even if I'm still taking BP pills for now.
  134. I'm unusually sleepy this PM, will take a nap -0- last nights no-sleep really caught up with me.
  135. 4:44 PM BP 173/85, HR 87
  136. 9:51 PM, BP 141/75, HR 89 How can it be so different?
  137. Thursday, August 9,2007: 7:29 AM BP 186/96, HR 80, just two minutes out of bed.
  138. 5:13 PM, BP 161/93, HR 90
  139. I slept well Wednesday night -- without the apnea mask. I had slept very poorly the night before with it. Don't know why -== just slept much more soundly.
  140. My Kung Fu Private Class TodayToday was my private-lesson Kung Fu day. I ever had a knee problem much during Kung Fu. It is true that there are certain kicks and exercises I cannot do -- which I could do before my stroke. But, I do well enough. My Grandmaster Teacher has been giving me special Kung Fu exercises as rehab for the left side of my body. Today for the first time in many months I could stand on the toes of my two feet -- even stand on one leg while bending some. This is a remarkable change. I cannot yet believe that Biosulf has repaired stuff in there, but through Kung Fu and Biosulf I am strengthening that part of my body.
  141. 7:46 PM, BP 164/80, HR 92
  142. Friday, August 10, 2007, 11:52 AM, BP 158/86, HR 86
  143. I had another Kung Fu class today -- more great exercises -- I do very well with these -- improving the strength and use of my left leg/knee, sweating, but not getting tired. I need to find ways to increase the amount of exercise I do.
  144. Saturday, August 11, 2007: 9:55 AM, Two minutes after meds and morning BS, BP 136.68, HR 84
  145. I seem to be constipated more on BS than earlier -- but have found that just a few dried prunes makes me regular with great ease -- always has.
  146. 9;40 PM, BP 154/90, HR 95
  147. Sunday, August 12, 2007, 7:04 AM, 1 minute out of bed, no meds, BP 185/103, HR 102 then full set of meds and big breakfast including champaign.
  148. A bit more constipation -- I think I need to use prunes regularly -- that is an OK way to handle this whether it is a detox symptom or not. Back from big breakfast and took BS.
  149. 4:04 PM, BP: 148/75, HR 92
  150. At 4:05 PM I can easily say I have no special tiredness -- and eager to do the work I have planned and expect to continue to keep my BS intake up in the high dosage range.
  151. 7:51 PM, BP: 168/87, HR 98 Tired enough to go to bed early.
  152. Monday, August 13, 2007: 7:26 AM, BP 188/101, HR 101, Interesting that my BP seems to be very high just a few minutes after getting out of bed in the morning. I'll try to get some ideas on that today. Of course I've not taken my BP meds yet this AM, normally do that by 9 AM or so.
  153. 7:54 AM, BP: 170/89, HR 78, Just 20 minutes later, after shower, BS used to brush my teeth, BP lower, why? No meds.
  154. Could it be caused by the small amount of BS I use when I brush my teeth? So, now I've taken about 2/3 tablespoon -- about 10 grams of BS, held in my mouth for some minutes, then swallowed, now take my BP again -=- still no meds yet. 8:09 AM BP: 160/87, HR 78. That is intriguing. Rather than take my meds now, I'll take more BS and re do the BP in another 15 minutes.
  155. I'd be willing to get off the meds if BS could bring it below 150, but my wife has insisted that I take my meds -- wives are often that way.
  156. Waterpic my teeth several times per day --- with Biosulf every timeAte some prunes 8:13 AM, just to continue on that successful action of making Bowel Movements easy. Waterpicked my teeth to get the left-over prunes out, then another 10 grams of BS by 8:20 AM
  157. The "Scientific Method" starts with "observations" and must move immediately to "records." If the records are different from the observation, for any reason, the whole process is corrupted. I have generally followed the practice of not only recording my observations, but recording them on a public published web page. So, I published the above BP readings just as they occurred, within minutes. A stray observation. I've taken these few minutes to let another 10 grams of BS dissolve in my mouth -- slowly, then swallow. During that time I shaved with an electric razor -- I've probably not noted here before, but my beard (and hair) have been growing far more rapidly with BS than before BS. The beard is fast-growing and heavy/coarse.
  158. I also often publish an intended observation before I actually do it -- I don't hide my results. So, here at 8:37 AM, I'm about to do another BP measure. No meds yet.
  159. 8:37 AM, BP 148/84, HR 75. This has to be repeated in order to get off the meds, but at least I'll wait until much later this AM, take the BP again, see what's up, continue taking BS and repeating this observation.
  160. I would not expect the BP to go lower -- no new BS -= no meds, no food, nothing except sitting at the computer and observing.
  161. 9:00 AM, BP 148/80, HR 69!! Gap 68
  162. 9:48 AM, no new BS -- it is in a closed room just now -- but let me look at the BP anyway: BP 168/91, HR 65 Gap 77 That's a disappointment. It will be at least another hour before I can get some BS again, so I'll have to change my arrangements so I can take it more regularly --
  163. 11;00 AM, got BS in my mouth as I type -- 1 minute ago. Tiny amount swallowed so far, let's see the BP
  164. BP: 187/91, HR 77 ?? Gap 110
  165. Off for errands, no BS until late, now 5:31 PM, let's see
  166. BP: 144/76, HR 88. Gap 56 Now, a new 10 gram usage of BS at 5:33 PM
  167. Now, just 7 minutes later: BP 141/77, HR 90, Gap 64 now another 10 grams and longer wait.15 grams at 5:40 PM
  168. BP: At 5:55 PM, 141/67, HR 87 Gap 54 an OK improvement. No meds all day. What would you do? I will continue without meds.
  169. 6:36 PM, after dinner, a 1/4 tablespoon of BS, just to refresh my mouth -- see what happens with BP
  170. BP 157/85, HR 95 ?? Gap 62 Just walking upstairs to my office probably accounts for the HR -- the BP up? Dinner?
  171. No particular lack of energy as I worked to 10 PM before ready for bed -- a rather usual work night. BP at end of day. No BS for last three hours.: BP 181/95, HR 93 Gap 78 I'll try some BS and a short wait. 10:05 PM 1/2 tablespoon of BS.
  172. 10:25 PM 185/95, HR 89 == no go. Meds tomorrow.
  173. Tuesday, August 13, 2007: 11:26 AM, Full meds at 7 AM, BP 175/89, Gap 86 HR 95
  174. Lunch == greatly reduced usage of BS, on advice from Dr. MSR.
  175. 1:12 PM: BP 131/71, HR 101 After rushing upstairs from lunch and soon out again to Kung Fu I had taken just a small amount of BS before lunch. Lunch? fast food and soda!! Runny nose. Where did that come from?
  176. 5:16 PM, BP 175/64, HR 95
  177. 6:33 PM, BP 184/93, HR 95
  178. Wednesday, August 14, 2007: 8:54 AM, BP 143/90, Gap 53 HR 96, no meds yet for day
  179. eMail to: Dr. Ayyangar: I'll soon write this in my journal, but i went through an amazing, but also gentle detox yesterday.
  180. In re BS, the biggest change was that, per your recent message, I started taking much less!
  181. Karl Loren: My detox started with a feeling of "something" in my throat -- like "sore throat" but not yet there.
  182. My voice got hoarse. All day I was a bit tired, then at night it hit me -- my nose had been running slightly all day -- then it came on strong -- couldn't blow my nose enough to get the stuff out -- constantly blowing -- clogged nose. No other symptoms. I used "Vicks" on my chest (felt good) and in my nostrils (helped in breathing), but used more than 50 kleenex tissues, blowing my nose all night --= adding Vicks.
  183. Perhaps getting into a vertical condition helped? Out of bed, shower, and feel "worn out" like I've been through something -- but feel calm. Most of the stuffiness is gone. It was like a "one-day flu" with no temperature and, right now, no unwanted feelings.
  184. It came on out of nowhere -- no premonition, just runny nose, then stuffy nose and constantly blowing to clean out. It seems to me now to be "over" and I had a "one-day experience".
  185. This level of detox would/should never be overly discouraging.
  186. The signal thing about it was the so very sudden nature -- from no where -- one day -- now mostly gone.
  187. 12:24 PM, BP 162/92, HR 92, no meds yet. Patrick Mcgean is the trial study director, suggests that BP where the difference is more than 60 points between the upper and the lower level are not good, and that that is much more significant than the absolute level, high or low, of either number.
  188. 1:29 PM, BP 161/85, HR 85
  189. 5:28 PM, BP 137/82, HR 85 No meds all d
  190. 7:41 PM, BP 164/92, HR 86, Feeling good but ready for bed. It has been interesting day -- I got lots of production done -- felt good about it, but could have stopped any time to nap --
  191. Thursday, August 15, 2007: 8:06 AM BP 173/99, Gap 74 HR 89 -- I'm now judging on the gap between the numbers -- more than 60 is not OK, I'll take one more measure before deciding on my meds or not.
  192. The detox from the day before is still wearing off, not all gone -- still sneezing and blowing my nose, but slept much more soundly -- that much detox would never slow me down -- minor stuff.
  193. BP: 143/82, HR 100, Close enough -- the difference is 61, so no meds today.
  194. I will take my Plavix and non BP stuff -- vitamins etc.
  195. 11:14 AM, BP 143/89, Gap 54 HR 94, just in range.
  196. 3:51 PM, BP 145/83, Gap 62 HR 95, slightly out of range -- executive decisions to let it ride -- no meds -- see how this continues.
  197. 8:54 PM, BP 171/96, Gap 75 HR 85, I'm a bit stressed this evening. I am actually excited to think that these various symptoms are detox symptoms -- I have various unwanted conditions -- have written about them, but wasn't sure which of them, if any, might be detox, caused by BS?
  198. My biggest unwanted condition is my left knee. I limp for almost all my walking and the knee hurts. But, there was no similar pain there three months ago. It TURNED ON somehow. I'm ready to believe that BS is cleaning out that joint so that oxygen can start regenerating new cartilage -- that would be a miracle, but I'm willing to put with the pain and limping just on that hope.
  199. My eyes water a lot -- not painful, but annoying and makes it hard for me to see.
  200. The runny nose has continued all of today, Thursday, and the frequent sneezing, then coughing leaves me tired. That too is a quite acceptable detox -- figure that a "head cold" and runny nose is a detox, no idea of where and how.
  201. This evening I got into a coughing/sneezing period, shook my body -- blew lots of stuff into tissues, left me tired and shaken. But, interestingly enough, here now at 9 PM, Thursday night, I am ready to keep working into the evening. I'm also ready to go to bed when I reach a good stopping point -- which was writing this report. I am pleased with the events of the day.
  202. Friday, August 16, 2007: 8:33 AM, BP 167/95, Gap 72 HR 93, I'll have to think about this one -- the gap is over 60, but I'll eat breakfast then take another measure
  203. I slept well, feel very good. I did get up to work at 5 AM for an hour before returning to bed -- it had been my usual work schedule -- odd hours during the night and I don't mind at all returning to it.
  204. 11:30 AM BP 152/82, Gap 70 HR 96
  205. 4:00 PM BP 178/103, Gap 75 HR 82 I'm going to take some BS== my use has become irregular after the last advice I got from Dr. Ayyangar.
  206. I was tired in the late afternoon, but full of energy just now at 8:55 PM
  207. 8:55PM, BP 168/95, HR 77 Go figure!
  208. Saturday, August 18, 2007: 6:09 AM, BP 162/96, Gap 66 HR 83 Wives often are the main reason husbands take their pills -- I've been over this and accept it. High BP generally does not cause an unwaned symptom so it is theoretical as to what BP is dangerous -- even accepting the "60 gap measure" I would be inclined to forego the meds, but I'm also willing to keep her feeling secure.
  209. I took the full med set, then Kung Fu, great, home so this is the first BP reading after meds: 8:44 PM BP 172/92, HR 74. I'll work a while, eat, rest, do it again.
  210. 9:45 PM, BP 177/96, HR 72, well, foooey!
  211. Sunday, August 19, 2007: 8:43 AM, BP 170/97, HR 77 full meds today.
  212. 3:51 PM, BP 101/57, HR 93 Lower than I've seen in months??
  213. Take it again to see if that was a fluke
  214. 3:54 PM, BP 136/67, HR 87
  215. 10:14 PM 189/111, HR 77, Sitting in the cold? Could that cause high BP?
  216. off to bed
  217. Monday, August 20, 2007: 8:06 AM, BP 169/85, Gap 84 HR 85
  218. Head Cold or Detox??Still blowing my nose a lot, but not much stuffy -- just a slow process of cleaning out all the muccus from the event that started last Wednesday.
  219. Today was my appointment with the orthopedic surgeon who did both of my artificial hips and my wife's knee. I have his new x-rays to publish here soon.
  220. He says the only real solution for my knee, and limp, is a new knee.
  221. Temporary maybe help would be a steroid injection or injection of knee "lubricants" i told him I would research those more, but I have no interest in more injections. Here is the data on this:
    1. rticular cartilage is the smooth coating covering the surface of the bones inside the knee. It helps to lubricate and cushion the surfaces of the knee joint. In osteoarthritis, this coating is damaged leading to reduced lubrication and cushioning. This results in some of the pain, grinding, and other symptoms experienced by osteoarthritis-sufferers (see the osteoarthritis section for further information).
    2. iscosupplementation therapy involves injecting a clear gel-like substance directly into the knee joint. These injections help to restore some of the lubrication lost by damaged cartilage and thus improve symptoms. An injection is given as one shot into the knee joint each week for three weeks. Usually people who respond to this form of treatment will experience some improvement for six to ten months. An injection series can be repeated every six months as needed. This method of therapy is used for people who have not benefited from less invasive therapies such as lifestyle modification, physiotherapy, and oral medications. The injections do carry a small risk of infection or allergic reaction to the lubricant itself mon brands include Synvisc© and Neovisc©. Physicians and orthopaedic surgeons can provide additional information about the risks and benefits of this
    3. ynvisc is a liquid that contains hylan polymers produced from chicken combs. It was FDA approved in August 1997. The Synvisc Brand Names and International Availabilityis known as Synvisc in the U.S. and Canada .
    4. ynvisc is Manufactured by Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories. Synvisc (Hylan G-F 20) is an FDA-approved treatment that provides lubrication for your knee. This injection is a viscosupplement that is used to treat the pain associated with osteoarthritis of the knee. Synvisc also will act as a "shock absorber" to cushion your knee joint that occurs with movement. This injection is an elastic and viscous liquid that is made from a substance called hyaluronan that is found in normal human joint fluid. Hyaluronan acts as a "shock absorber" and lubricant in your knee joint and is needed for your joint to work properly
  222. Patrick has given me this more optimistic prediction:
  223. Karl from Patrick, August 20, 2007
  224. Patience is necessary for sulfur or biosuf to work. I awoke one morning
some 2 years after taking real sulfur twice a day with no pain or "noise"
from my knees. I sat back on the bed and got up again, and then did
something I had not done for years, I squatted and stood up again, the
last time I had done this I needed help to stand up but none was needed
nor was any available. The area of cartilage which must regenerate to
allow the knee or any of our joints to function is considerable. My shoulder
is still in repair from a torn rotator cuff from 1968. We can normally regen-
erate all of our cells in seven years but when damaged the repair can take
    longer.
  225. This may sound a little strange but look at your shoes they could be part
of the problem, is the wear inconsistent with your making correct contact
with terra firma. You may consider a different shoe say "crocs" to aid
or lessen the need to limp.
  226. But above all be patient, cellular regeneration of the cartilage of our joints
in not an over night process.
  227. we have all the stem cells used to make us what we are, cellular regeneration
is a natural process unless inhibited by the hand of man.
  228. Patrick
  229. 6:17 PM, BP 141/80, HR 92. Finally!
  230. Tuesday, August 21, 2007. 6:15 AM BP 179/108, Gap 71 HR 87, two minutes out of bed, very cold office.
  231. 7:40 PM, BP 153/76, HR 83 Still too large a gap, a good busy day.
  232. Sunday, August 26, 2007: 9:19 AM, BP 154/91, HR 90 gap: 63
  233. We left for Mexico (dental work) on Wednesday, stayed an extra day, returned late on Thursday, busy, so just now adding to the journal.
  234. I liked the dental office. Both my wife and I started dental work, next appointment is for September 11th and then some beyond that.
  235. I first reported on my gum diesease many weeks ago and thought that THIS visit to the dentist would give me a comparison reading. The dentist said there was no deterioration in my gum situation, but neither was she able to see any improvement. She said that what I needed was a much more careful test of all the "pockets" around my teeth, and a credible dental report, then a longer period for whatever "natural remedy" I wanted to use. I liked that.
  236. I then saw the periodontist. He was more than agreeable to give me a full test, sign his name, for publishing on this weg site, and said that a four month test would be enough to see if the natural remedy was being helpful.
  237. His actual report is HERE.
  238. 2:33 PM, BP: 154/78, HR 103, Gap: 76
  239. I now wear Crocs all dayIn the past few days I have purchased and started to wear "Crocs," on Patrick's advise to significantly reduce the pain in my knee, to speed the regeneration there and to improve BP. The first time I wore them I could feel tremendous improvement -- much less pain. I am now wearing them as my usual footwear.
  240. 3:16 PM, BP 128/65, HR 89, Gap 63 Yes, I'd taken meds earlier in the day.
  241. Monday, August 27, 2007. 9:55 AM, BP 158/88, HR 86 , Gap 70 No meds yet today, will skip the BP meds for the day.
  242. The Crocs continue to make an amazing difference -- The knee is still weak, and I limp from weakness, but the pain is very little. Less pain means to me much less inflamation, and thus regeneration can take place -- also detox may have reduced the toxins related to the inflamation, so Biosulf may have had to do with this. I've decided to take Biosulf much more regularly -- about 3 teaspoons per day is now the plan, plus brushing my teeth with it.

  275. Today I ordered the orthopaedic surgeon to get the knee injection, gel, material for three weekly shots to put a temporary replacement for missing cartilage. My advice from Dr. Ayyangar on this was profound and helped me make this decision instantly. I had "hoped" that I could regenerate the missing cartilage in my left knee with Biosulf, but he corrected my thinking, saying that Biosulf causes a regeneration generally, not localized to some specific area you might want. The body has its own priorities of what is important for healing and "natual healing" will proceed according to the body's priorities. In the scale of body priorities organs would generally always have a higher priority than knee cartilage. I'm confortable with this new understanding, and will seek rather standard medical remedy for the painful knee joint. I may be faced with the same type of choice for my gum disease.

  279. Detox is a process in the whole body - and not necessarily localized to an organ or location.
  280. The degeneration of your knee is not simply a local phenomenon alone - but a locational manifestation of a general phenomenon of aging.
  281. Whenever the detox gets completed (or has reasonably progressed) regeneration occurs in every location in the body as may be necessary to restore the integrity & ability of the whole body.
  282. Occasionally in the process of prioritization (towards overall survival) - less important areas in the body may be sacrificed in preference to more important ones.
  283. If you see no improvement in the knee with Biosulf - you should go ahead with suitable surgery and not wait any further as it is meaningless to suffer when alternate choices are available.
  284. You will get PMSM in one pound jars. PMSM will regenerate cells.
Biosulf will detox and regenerate cells. In fact detox is automatically followed by regeneration as a matter of natural process in any living body. You can observe this phenomenon in any simple septic wound - which after discharging pus will start regenerating to cover the wound.

  286. From Dr. MSR Ayyangar September 6, 2007
  287. Dear Karl,
  288. I do not accept anything that appears empirical - and BP is one among them. I have seen people with very wide variations of BP who were all quite healthy and died only of old age. My father was one of them. He had his BP constantly at or around 170 / 70 & his HR 38 - as observed by me, ever since I became his care taker and Doctor, ie, 1982 -1994. I did not know what it was before, but he never went to a doctor in his life, or took any allopathic medicine. He was a symbol of perfect health - never even knew what was headache. He had vigorous morning walks & functioned like a clock in his daily routines. He was very spiritual in his orientation - thought, word & deed. He did Yoga & Meditation daily.
  289. He was and had been my primary & secondary "GURU". My personality was molded by him. He retired from the revenue department in the Government service. Due to his qualifications & knowledge in Criminal Law, he was made the First Class District Magistrate (1967-1970) - post retirement. I used to attend his court as an youngster to watch him deliver judgments & justice - to later discuss at home about why & what?
  290. I kept wondering why his BP (170 / 70) never affected him in any way. He was mentally very alert till his end at 82 years.
  291. Technically (Fluid Mechanics) the differential pressure between Systolic & Diastolic is what drives the blood through the blood vessels - arteries & veins. BP of 120 / 80 is considered ideal in the medical world - but this is never found in people after 40 or so. Diastolic is considered more important for control of BP than the systolic - as the diastolic is the back pressure on the Heart. Lower it is, better it should be - theoretically - to a limit.
  292. I feel nothing empirical can be considered truly scientific - but only statistical. Isolated observation of BP per se may not be a true representation of Health - unless correlated with other parameters like, Gender, Age, Weight, Occupation, Mental & Physical Activities, EQ, Service Orientation, Kindness & Happiness Levels etc.
  293. Regards,
  294. Dr. MSR Ayyangar
